200 Elderly Pa. Residents Scammed

Four men are in the Montgomery County prison accused of scamming elderly residents out of nearly a million dollars.

State prosecutors say four southeastern Pennsylvania men scammed more than 200 elderly victims by setting up bogus corporations and selling largely non-existent services.

Attorney General Linda Kelly says the men cold-called elderly victims in 41 counties from Philadelphia to Erie, pitching low-cost home-health care and equipment. But instead of delivering what they promised, authorities say the men took most of the $700,000 they collected for themselves.

Officials identified the suspects as Bruce Cherry and Robert Lerner, both of Philadelphia; Ross Rabelow of Southampton and Thomas Muldoon of Broomall.

Prosecutors say they're still looking for other victims scammed by American Comfort Home Care Services, Global Services for the Home and Cherry Senior Solutions.

The suspects are being held at Montgomery County Prison. Court records don't list attorneys for them.
