2-Year-Old Hit by Train, Thrown in Air, Survives

A 2-year-old boy was hit by a train in Allentown on Saturday. Police say he was thrown in the air and got stuck in the front of the train, according to The Morning Call.

He survived – and with only a few bruises to show for it.

Police say that the toddler and a dog were sitting on the train tracks on Auburn Street around 3 a.m. when the train’s engineer saw him and honked the horn, according to the paper.

The dog moved, the child did not, and it was too late to stop the train.

The paper reports that emergency crews were able to dislodge the boy and get him to a local hospital.

He suffered only bruising and has been released into the custody of his parents.

Police and Child Services are investigating why the boy was out, unattended, at 3 a.m., according to The Morning Call.
