A toddler died after being struck and killed by a car in South Philadelphia Wednesday night.
Police say the 2-year-old girl ran into the street on the 1200 block of S. 21st Street around 8:20 p.m. The girl was then struck by an oncoming car.
The toddler was taken to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and was pronounced dead just before 9 p.m.
Police say the driver of the car that struck the child remained at the scene. Police continued to investigate the crash through the evening.
