3 Teens Shot at Philly Rec Center

One teen rushed to the hospital in critical condition

Three teens were rushed to the hospital after being shot at a Cobbs Creek recreation center.

The gunfire rang out in front of the Cobbs Creek Recreation Center along the 200 block of South 63rd Street just after 8 p.m. Thursday, officials said.

A 16-year-old was hit multiple times, sources tell NBC Philadelphia. He was rushed by police officers to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in critical condition.

A 17- and 15-year-old were also shot -- both in the thigh. They were taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for treatment. Their conditions are unknown.

A dark blue Chevy Impala sitting on the sidewalk outside the community center has been cordoned off. Sources say the teens were inside the car when the shooting happened.

Philadelphia Police took two men into custody, but their roles in the shooting are unclear.
