Two people are in the hospital after an accident in Delaware County.

It happened shortly after 5 p.m. at the intersection of Lawrence Road and Sussex Boulevard in Marple Township. Officials say a red Prius and a silver Land Rover collided, causing both vehicles to overturn.

Two people were trapped inside their vehicles and rescue crews had to use the Jaws of Life to get them out. They were both taken to the hospital where they are being treated for serious injuries.

The intersection where the crash occurred is currently shut down. Officials continue to investigate the accident.
