1 Dead, 1 Critical, Gunman on the Loose

A man is dead and his brother is fighting for his life after a shooting in the Hunting Park section of the city.

Police say an unidentified man armed with a shotgun shot two men on the 3900 block of North Percy Street around 6:40 p.m. A 23-year-old man and his 20-year-old brother were both struck in the torso.

Police say the brothers drove themselves to Temple University Hospital. The 20-year-old was pronounced dead at 6:49 p.m. The 23-year-old is in critical condition.

Police responded to a home on the 900 block of West Pike believing the gunman was inside. After a standoff, police searched the home but did not find him. They say they recovered two shotguns from the house however. The suspect is still on the loose.

Police are also investigating a double shooting in North Philadelphia. Police say a gunman opened fire on two 34-year-old men on the 2700 block of Germantown Avenue around 5 p.m.

One victim was struck five times in the legs and groin. He was taken to Temple University Hospital where he is currently in critical condition.

The second victim was struck three times in the left leg. He was also taken to Temple University Hospital where he is currently in stable condition. No arrests have been made.
