A husband and his wife are dead after a tractor trailer crashed into their SUV in Chester County.

Police say the deadly crash happened shortly after 7 p.m. on Route 41 in Kennett Township when an SUV made a left out of the parking lot of a Mexican restaurant, directly into the path of a tractor trailer.

Police say the driver of the SUV, 39-year-old Matthew Petke, and his 45-year-old wife Brenda Petke were killed in the accident.

Both were from Wilmington, Delaware.

"It sounded like a bomb," said Angelica Zavala, a worker at the restaurant who called 911. "It was really, really loud. It was really shocking."

The tractor trailer's driver, John Deapen, 35, was not injured in the accident.

Route 41 has been reopened after being closed for a few hours.
