Man Dies in N. Philly Playground Shooting

One man is dead and another injured after a shooting occurred late Sunday morning at a North Philadelphia playground.

Around 11:48 a.m., police say that two men arrived at a playground on 27th and Clearfield when they opened fire before fleeing the scene.

A 25-year-old man was shot once in the chest and once on his right side. He was taken to Temple University Hospital where he later died from his wounds shortly after 6 p.m.

The second victim is a 19-year-old man who was shot once in the left leg. He was also taken to Temple where he is in stable condition.

Authorities say that the two suspects were driving a burgundy Chevy Monte Carlo.

One suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, standing at 5-foot-9 and weighing 150 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a red hoodie.
