Two people suffered smoke inhalation after a fire broke out at a three-story home in North Philadelphia overnight.

Two people suffered smoke inhalation after a fire broke out at a three-story home in North Philadelphia overnight.

It happened just after 3 a.m. in the 1500 block of North 17th Street. Investigators say two people were trapped on the third floor of the home and tried to jump. Firefighters were able to get them down the ladder to safety.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
