Officials are investigating an overnight fire that sent three people, including a firefighter, to the hospital.

The fire broke out around 1:30 a.m. in the attic of a home on 7 Bodine Avenue in Burlington Township, New Jersey. When responding firefighters went inside the home they found potentially hazardous substances.

Hazmat officials from Burlington County and the New Jersey State Police were then called to the scene to investigate. Hazmat officials are currently assisting in the collection of the materials though they don't believe they pose a risk to the public.

Two residents inside the home suffered minor injuries. A firefighter also had a medical emergency during the incident.

All three victims were treated and later released from the hospital.

Officials continue to investigate the cause of the fire. Stay with NBC10.com for more details on this developing story.
