2 Dead in Separate Fires in Pa. Homes

Authorities in western Pennsylvania say two people have died in separate Pittsburgh-area fires.

Fire crews in Allegheny County were sent to the Shaler Township residence just before 6 p.m. Friday. Officials said the body of the victim was found several hours later. They said they believed that two other residents weren't home at the time.

A blaze reported just after 12:30 A.M. Saturday at the Casa Blanco apartments in Moon Township left another person dead. Police said the victim was found where the fire originated in the living room of the apartment, which was heavily damaged.

The American Red Cross of Southwestern Pennsylvania says 13 people were displaced, but all but four have found other housing.

County fire investigators are trying to determine the causes of both fires.
