Police arrested Melissa Rasiul for allegedly killing a man in a hit and run. Police say Stephen Pagano helped the woman try to cover up the crime.

Police arrested a woman for hitting and killing a 61-year-old man with her vehicle and charged a man with helping her cover up the crime.

Melissa Rasiul of the 700 block of Bridgewater Road in Bensalem is facing multiple charges after she allegedly struck Vincent Peary with a 2003 GMC pick-up truck around 6:40 p.m. Thursday near the 4100 block of Bristol Pike and then fled the scene, according to officials.

Investigators charged Stephen Pagano, who is also of the 700 block of Bridgewater Road, with tampering evidence, according to reports.

Peary was discovered lying on the shoulder of the southbound lane of Bristol Pike Thursday evening and was rushed to Aria Torresdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead later that night, police say.

A tip led officials to Rasiul, who was driving with a suspended license when she allegedly killed Peary.
