Woman Fighting for Her Life After Hit by 2 Cars

A woman is fighting for her life after she was struck by a car in North Philly and then, moments later, was hit by a second vehicle, which sped away from the scene of the crash.

The driver of a Kia remained at the accident scene after striking an unidentified woman near the intersection of Broad and Venango streets around 3:45 a.m., police said. But the driver of a 2011 Mitsubishi -- which hit the victim as she laid injured in the roadway from the earlier accident -- fled, authorities said.

Medics rushed the woman to nearby Temple University Hospital, where she remains in extremely critical condition, oficials said.

Police urge anyone with information about the crash to contact them.

An investigation is underway.
