No Abduction After Witnesses Report Seeing Boys Put in Trunk in South Philadelphia

Police investigated a possible abduction in South Philadelphia but it turned out that the boys weren't abducted after all.

Witnesses told police they spotted two men in their 30s placing two boys in the trunk of a gray Honda on the 1400 block of S 9th Street Sunday shortly after 7 p.m.

The vehicle had Pennsylvania tags, according to witnesses. They also claimed the Honda was pulling an orange food cart with a picture of a dragon on the side.

Police investigated and interviewed witnesses overnight including the supposed abductors. Investigators found that no abduction took place and that the vehicle in question belonged to vendors returning from a festival in the area.

The boys are part of the family, said police.

No abduction took place and no charges were filed, said police.
