2 Assaults at West Chester University

Two people, including one West Chester University student, were attacked by a group during two separate attempted robberies that occurred last week on the edge of the public college's campus.

In the first incident, three people approached the student near Sharpless and Darlington streets Thursday around 10 p.m., authorities said.

The attackers demanded money and then struck the victim before fleeing, according to officials, who said all three were wearing dark clothing and had their faces concealed.

On Saturday, a similar attack happened shortly before midnight near East Nields Street and Sharon Alley, investigators said.

Two men demanded money and began going through the pockets of the victim, who resisted and was then hit in the face, according to reports.

The suspects then ran off.

Authorities described the suspect who struck the victim in Saturday's assault as 5-feet 10-inches tall with a mustache, wearing dark clothing and a knitted hat with a hood pulled over his face.

His accomplice is described as 6-feet tall with a goatee, wearing dark clothing, a knitted hat and a dark colored hoodie, which was pulled down to cover his face.

It is unclear if anything was taken during either assault.
