2 Arrested in Synthetic Pot Bust at Music Store: Cops

It happened at the Acrat Music store on 900 Tilton Road in Northfield, New Jersey.

Police arrested two people after conducting a synthetic marijuana bust at an Atlantic County music store.

It happened at the Acrat Music store on 900 Tilton Road in Northfield, New Jersey. Police say they began investigating the store several months ago after receiving complaints from local parents and residents. They were unable to do anything however because of a loophole in state law.  A recent statewide ban on all forms of synthetic marijuana last month allowed them to finally take action however. On Tuesday, around 1:30 p.m., police raided the store and say they uncovered the sale of synthetic marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Investigators say the store normally sells old records and has a large section with glassware as well as synthetic cannabis. During Tuesday’s raid, police took a large amount of material evidence into custody, including business records.

Two store employees are in custody. They face possible charges of possession with intent to distribute synthetic cannabis. They have not been officially charged however as police continue to investigate and interview more witnesses. Police say they expect they will eventually charge the owners of the store as well.
