$1M Powerball Ticket Sold in Kensington

Powerball winner bought million dollar ticket in one of the poorest neighborhoods in Philly.

A $1 million Powerball ticket was recently sold at a beer distributer in one of the poorest neighborhoods in Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Beer Company at 2525 East York St., in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, sold a Powerball ticket with a Power Play, which awards $1 million for a match-five prize, according to lottery officials.

The winning ticket matched all five white balls, 03-05-18-27-54, but no the red Powerball 13.
Though lottery officials can’t confirm the winner’s identity until the prize is claimed, they say the winning ticket was announced Sept. 7.

Winners have one year from the drawing to claim their prizes.

The Lottery says that each holder of a winning ticket has to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County, or at any of Lottery's seven area offices.
