$1K Reward Offered for Info on Elderly Woman Robbery

Police are offering a $1000 reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest of a man caught on video robbing a 94-year-old woman.

Police are now offering a reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest of a man caught on video robbing an elderly woman.

It happened Easter Sunday at 2:10 p.m. in Philadelphia. Police say a 94-year-old woman was walking home from Bells Corner Supermarket on the 8300 block of Loretto Avenue when a man began to follow her.

Surveillance video shows the suspect sneaking behind the woman. He then runs towards her and grabs the woman’s pocketbook, pulling her to the ground in the process. He then flees in an unknown direction. Police say the woman suffered a broken arm and multiple cuts and bruises.

"It's just unbelievable that somebody would do such a thing to a person that's 94-years-old," said Laura Kushnir, manager of Bells Corner.

The suspect is described as a white male standing at 6-feet and weighing between 175 and 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers. He also appears to walk with a limp. Police believe he lives in the neighborhood.

Police say the victim will likely have to go back to the hospital for further treatment.

On Friday, Philadelphia Police announced that a $1000 reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the man who committed the crime.
