Teen Fights Off Groper on Delco Street

The woman was walking home when a man grabbed her, police say.

Upper Chichester Police are looking for the man they say grabbed a teen while she was walking home from a job interview Wednesday afternoon.

Eighteen-year-old Alyssa Bruno tells NBC Philadelphia exclusively that she was grabbed around the waist as she was walking along Bethel Avenue. The quick-thinking high schooler was able to fight off her alleged attacker.

"He grabbed me, down here by my waist and I flung my right arm back," Bruno tells NBC Philadelphia.

Bruno says she was walking home from an interview at Pathmark when the man approached her asking for help with a flat tire. She says she directed him to a gas station close by, put her headphones back on and kept walking.

It was then that the man allegedly grabbed her.

"He didn't get a chance to hug my waist because my arm flew," Bruno says.

As soon as the man took off, Bruno ran to a Wawa and called her mom. It was her mom who alerted police, officials say.

Now, the victim, her mom and police are hoping that their story will prompt others to be aware of their surroundings and stay safe. They're urging anyone with information on this man to call police.

"...Call the cops right away because [they] could be touched next.," Bruno warns.
