Motorcyclist Injured in Del. Hit-and-Run

State Police still searching for driver

Troopers are searching for the driver who fled from the scene of a hit-and-run crash that saw a motorcyclist suffer minor injuries Friday night in Claymont.

According to Delaware State Police, the unknown driver was operating a silver vehicle, believed to be a Ford Focus. The car was traveling northbound on Ridge Road in Claymont before attempting to turn into a Wawa convenience store. The car turned into the path of a motorcycle, which was operated by Robert Douglas, 55, of Claymont.

Douglas's motorcycle reportedly collided with the front fender of the car, which then sped north on Ridge Road toward the Pennsylvania state line. Douglas suffered minor injuries and declined to be transported to a hospital.
