2 Suspects in Custody in Shooting of 12-Year-Old

Police say they are searching for a third suspect.

A 12-year-old girl is in the hospital after a shooting in Darby Borough.

It happened Monday at 3 p.m. on the 900 block of Forrester Avenue. Police say Tathiana Diggs, 12, was going inside her grandfather's van when an argument between several people led to a man opening fire. Diggs was struck in the hip.

"She was crying because she felt the sting of the bullet," said Leslie Baker, the girl's grandfather. "She was wondering why she was hurting all of a sudden."

Diggs was taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where she underwent emergency surgery. She is currently in stable condition.

Police took two suspects into custody overnight; 22-year-old Joshua Singleton and 35-year-old Lynnette Crawford. Police executed a search warrant and recovered evidence from the home where they believe the two live together. They are looking for a third suspect.

(L to R) Joshua Singleton, 22, Lynnette Crawford, 35
