11 Heroin Overdoses in Camden Over Weekend

Officials believe the batch of heroin known as "Hellfire" could be laced with fentanyl.

At least 11 people in Camden are recovering after overdosing on a potentially laced batch of heroin known as β€œHellfire” during the holiday weekend, according to officials.

Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk and Camden’s Police Chief Scott Thompson said in a release that the individuals were treated after overdosing on the drugs that appear to have originated in North Camden and Whitman Park.

Officials say the individuals were treated and released from the hospital, but they fear the drugs could possibly be laced with fentanyl or other substances. Fentanyl is approximately 80 times more potent than morphine, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
