1 Killed, 2 Injured After Car Jumps Curb

3 men struck while painting fence in Bustleton

One man was killed and two others were hospitalized after a car jumped the curb and struck them early Saturday morning.

Investigators say the men were painting a fence in the 600 block of Red Lion Road in Bustleton when a driver heading westbound lost control of his car.

Investigators say that the car was traveling on the curb for some distance and there was no sign that the breaks were applied before the collision. The car eventually came to rest against a utility pole nearby.

One of the victims, a 42-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say that he was painting the side of the fence facing Red Lion Road when he was struck. The other two were taken to Aria Health with minor injuries, as was the 22-year-old driver of the vehicle. No further identifying information has been released for either the victims or the driver.
