A motorcyclist was killed Sunday afternoon after he was thrown off his vehicle on I-95 in Ridley Township.

Alan Decristoforo, 24, of Philadelphia, was riding a 2007 Honda 1000 RR motorcycle on I-95 south around 9:45 a.m. when he somehow lost control of his bike while rounding a bend.

Decristoforo's motorcycle struck the left guide rail at mile marker 7.0. The impact threw Decristoforo off his motorcycle and onto the center median. He was later pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Ridley Township Police, Ridley Park Police and the Ridley Township Fire Department are currently investigating the crash. Two southbound lanes on I-95 were closed due to the accident.
