One man is dead after a car crash in Bear, Delaware.
It happened Saturday around 4:39 p.m. on Summit Bridge Road (Route 896).
Police say a 65-year-old man was driving northbound on the road at a high speed. They then say the man lost control of his car and rotated around 90 degrees clockwise, traveling off the right side of the roadway and striking a utility pole.
The crash ejected the man from his vehicle, a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda. The vehicle was split into three separate sections. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Summit Bridge Road was closed at Howell School Road for around 3 hours while the crash was investigated and cleared. DELDOT and Delmarva Power are still on the scene because of damage to the utility pole. Limited lane restrictions remain in effect.
