1 Dead, 5 Hurt in Car Crash In Front of Local School

A Lehigh County coroner was sent to the scene and confirmed that one person was killed.

One person is dead after a car accident in front of a Lehigh County School.

It happened Wednesday around 3 p.m. on Lower Macungie Road in front of the Lower Macungie Middle School. Police say a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country was driving when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed over into the eastbound lane of the road. Investigators say the vehicle's left front bumper struck the left front bumper of a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by Brandi Kralik, 41, of Emmaus, Pa.

Kralik was killed in the collision. Her three passengers were injured. Police say the two people inside the Chrysler were also injured. All five were taken to the hospital. Police have not revealed how serious those injuries are.

An autopsy will be performed on Thursday to determine the exact cause of death.
