1 Dead, 3 Injured in I-95 Crash

One of the drivers was pronounced dead on the scene in Newark, Delaware.

One person is dead following an two-car accident on I-95 in Delaware Wednesday evening.

Police say the crash happened just after 5:30 p.m. in Newark when a 1997 Chevy Monte Carlo traveled across several lanes of traffic on I-95 south near Rt. 896 before it was struck by a Bolt Bus.

The impact caused the Monte Carlo to flip numerous times before coming to a stop.

The driver of the Monte Carlo was pronounced dead on the scene. Her 42-year-old male passenger was helicoptered to Christiana Trauma center where he is in critical condition, according to police.

Two bus passengers were also taken to Christiana. They were treated and released.

Three lanes of 95 SB and one lane on I-95 NB were closed until around 9:30 p.m.

Investigators are looking into what exactly caused the collision.
