1 Dead, 1 Injured in Camden Shooting

Camden Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another man injured Saturday night.

Thirty-nine-year-old Juan Cochran Mendoza was killed in the incident. A 36-year-old man was shot in the face and is being treated at Cooper Hospital in Camden. Police have not released his identity.

Investigators say the two were in a vehicle near 26th and Mitchell streets about 9:30 p.m. when they were fired upon.

The car crashed into a fence on the 100 block of 25th Street. The surviving victim got out of the vehicle and ran before collapsing on the same block.

Police say the two men appear to have traveled from the Phoenix, Arizona area, though exact addresses are still being confirmed.
