1 Dead, 1 Critical in Cobbs Creek Shootings

One man is dead and another in critical condition after a series of shootings in the Cobbs Creek section of the city.

On Sunday, around 3:45 a.m., police responded to a report of a person with a gun on the 6100 block of Market Street. When they arrived they found a 28-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators also say they found a red car with bullet holes at the scene. The man was pronounced dead at 3:58 a.m.

Police say a second victim, a 25-year-old man, was found with a gunshot wound to the face at Mercy Hospital. Investigators say the victim had been taken to the hospital by a private party. It’s unclear where he was first struck however. He was transferred to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and is currently in critical condition.

Investigators believe the two shootings are related. No word yet on any suspects.
