Mother and Daughter Shot in Nicetown

Both were rushed to Temple University Hospital Sunday evening

A 34-year-old woman and her 13-year-old daughter are in the hospital after a double shooting in the Nicetown section of Philadelphia.

Police say the shooting happened Sunday on the 1900 block of Rowan Street around 7:30 p.m.

The 34-year-old was shot twice in the back and is in critical condition.

Her 13-year-old daughter is in stable condition, after being shot twice in the leg.

Police believe the mother knew the gunman and that an argument took place inside the house that spilled out into the street. Police also found shell casings on the ground outside the home. They continue to investigate what led to the shooting.

No arrests have been made.
