Deer Crashes Through Plato-Glass Window at DeSales University

Deer jumps into DeSales University philosophy class Wednesday.

Students in a morning Philosophy class at DeSales University received a lesson in physical — not metaphysical - truths:

Sometimes deer crash through glass windows.

A deer leapt through a first-floor classroom window in Dooling Hall on the DeSales University campus at about 9 a.m. Wednesday, according to school officials.

There were about 20 to 25 students in the classroom at the time, according to Executive Director of Communications Tom McNamara.

One student was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, while surrounding classrooms were evacuated as a precaution, says McNamara.

Campus police killed the deer, which had broken its leg and was bleeding profusely. It is yet to be known if the deer was a doe or a buck.

According to The Morning Call, the DeSales University campus is on 400 acres in Lehigh County, surrounded by woods, farm fields and golf courses.
