Vigil Tonight for Teen Crash Victims

A candlelight vigil was planned at Pottstown High School Tuesday at 8 p.m. to honor two students who died in a weekend car crash.

Breanne Brothers and Andrea Antonio-Harris were both thrown out of the back seat of an SUV late Saturday night when it hit a guardrail and flipped.

Breanne, 15, died of injuries to her torso and Andrea, 16, died from head injuries she suffered in the accident

It was a tough day for many students returning to school Monday. Spring Cornell played softball with Andrea.

"She always knew how to make you laugh, like, you can be in the worst mood and she'd just say something random and you'd have to laugh, you know."

The school was posting updates on its Web site, along with some coping strategies for parents whose children are grieving.

Four other kids were hurt in the crash, including the 18-year old driver, the only male. The three other girls are 17, 16 and 12 years old.

Montgomery County's District Attorney is investigating the one-car accident. And while this accident and a crash three weeks ago that killed two other area teens has raised a lot of questions and concern about teen driving laws, D.A. Risa Vetri-Ferman stressed that there's no safety substitute for parental involvement.

Pottstown High parents like Lisa Nganza agreed.

"I think maybe it's an eye opener for kids and for parents about, you know, everybody thinks it's not gonna happen to them and it does and I just feel so sorry for the family."
