Truck Driver Charged in Deadly Hit-and-Run

Hatfield Township Police arrested a 42-year-old truck driver for a deadly hit-and-run.

The crash happened on route 309 and Sterling Drive in Hatfield Township on Wednesday around 6 a.m.

A tractor trailer, driven by Ernest Cohens of the Bronx, NY, collided with a motorcycle and killed the driver, 55-year-old Terry Kriebel of Sellersville, Pa.

Police say that Cohens and another motorist walked over to Kriebel and covered his body with a sheet or towel.

Cohens then allegedly got in his truck and drove away.

Forty minutes later, a Bucks County Police Officer located the disabled truck as well as Cohens. Cohens then reportedly told the officer that he fled the scene after the crash.

The officer later discovered Cohens' driving privileges had been suspended.

Cohens has been arrested for an accident involving death and an accident involving death while not properly licensed.

He was arraigned on Thursday around 6 p.m. at a court in Collegeville. Assistant District Attorney Samantha Cauffman is assigned to prosecute the case.

The homicide investigation is ongoing.
