The fund set aside for the families of fallen officers is seriously depleted.

A fundraiser last month did not make up for all the recent expenses.

The Fraternal Order of Police Survivor’s Fund pays for funeral expenses and it helps fund families of fallen officres throughout the entire year.

With the deaths of 6 officers in the last 2-1/2 years, the fund has paid for more expenses than expected.  It was set up to pay for a funeral every few years.  With each officer’s death, the fund covers about $40,000 worth of funeral costs.
