Philly Casino Protesters Hold Street Circus
Anti-casino advocates hold an unusual protest in Center City.
Demonstrators set up this Anti-Casino Circus at 6th and Market Streets in Philadelphia. Two organizations, Asian Americans United and Casino Free Philadelphia are joining forces to protest the Foxwoods and Sugar House casino projects.
They just opened an office called the No Slots Spot to use as a protest command center.
This week, city officials approved a modified design for the Sugar House Casino on a site in Fishtown.
Meantime, Foxwoods developers want to build a casino at the old Strawbridge's at 8th and Market Streets. Officials are still working out a lease agreement for the site and final design plans.
