After three robberies in recent months, Philadelphia Police are warning people to be careful about purchases made using Craigslist.

When buyers go to meet the sellers, they get ambushed instead.

An anonymous victim shared her story with CBS3. The victim said she found a car for sale on the classifieds site and the seller offered to drive her to an auto tags store. According to the victim, the store turned out to be vacant and she was robbed at gunpoint.

The other two victims were also tricked and then robbed.

Craigslist does warn against criminals and scams on their site. Police say if you meet a seller from Craigslist in person be sure to take someone with you.

Detectives believe more people may have been victimized. It is unclear if the robberies are connected.

If you have information about the robberies please call North Detective division of Philadelphia Police at 215-686-3353.
