Philadelphia police are looking for the driver of a stolen red Mercedes-Benz that sped off during a traffic stop in Germantown Tuesday morning and dragged an officer several feet.
Investigators said the officer stopped the car around 1:30 a.m. after they suspected it had been stolen from a parking lot nearby.
Police say his partner fired his gun at the car as the officer clung to the hood but the car got away. There were two men and a woman inside, according to police.
The officer, who was knocked to the ground, suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from Albert Einstein Medical Center.
Police later found the car at Rittenhouse Street in Germantown. Investigators said they know the suspect they are looking for.
