Navigate SEPTA With Google Transit

By train, trolley or subway—There are more than enough ways to get around Philadelphia. But, who the heck can actually navigate it all? Well, you can with a little help from Google.
SEPTA announced Tuesday a new partnership with Google Transit, which is supposed to make it a whole lot easier for commuters to get around.
"SEPTA operates an important local and regional transit system, and having that data available via Google Maps will be a great benefit to transit riders in and around Philadelphia. In addition to serving as a trip planning tool, Google Transit can introduce new riders to the availability of public transit, and we're pleased that people will now be able to learn about SEPTA directly from Google Maps," Sean Carlson, manager of Google public affairs said.
Riders will now be able to access schedule information through Google’s online map feature, which includes schedules for Regional Rail lines, the Broad Street Subway, the Market-Frankford El, Trolley routes and the Norristown High-Speed Line.
Just go to the Web site, enter your destination and voila—the schedule, location of your stop and travel times appear.
Bus and trackless trolley schedules should be added later this year, SEPTA said.
And if Google isn’t enough for you, SEPTA will soon step into Twitter land with travel alert tweets, officials said.
