NJ Man Dies at the Hands of High School Sweetheart: Prosecutors

Paige Pfefferle says that her boyfriend walked into a knife she was holding.

A 19-year-old woman is facing murder charges after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend of three years.

Paige Pfefferle was arraigned in a Camden County Court Tuesday for the murder of her high school sweetheart Matthew Hus.

According to police, the Audubon High School graduates got into an argument on Saturday night.

Hus' best friend, Tim Tole, says he tried to talk Matt out of going over to Paige's house.

"I told him, 'don't go. You're not gonna wake up tomorrow if you go.'"

Pfefferle told police she picked up a knife to scare Hus and that when he turned around, he walked into it.

Medical examiner Gerald Feigin determined that Hus didn’t die from turning into the weapon, but that the knife was thrust into his chest, reports The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Pfefferle’s attorney said that her client didn’t intend to kill her beloved boyfriend, according to the paper.

"They argued like any other couple does, but I would never have thought she’d do something like that,” said Tole. "He was the best friend anybody could ever ask for. He was a great son, he was just a great person all around."

Pfefferle’s bail is set at $500K.
