The Mummer who collapsed from a heart attack during the 2009 Mummer's parade died Monday night at Hahnemann University Hospital.
Jerry Murray, 57, of Havertown, collapsed from a heart attack while performing in front of the judge’s table New Year’s Day.
Many people thought his collapse was part of the act.
Murray marched with the Wild Rovers New Year’s Association of the Murray Comic Club, named after his father, Joseph A. Murray, who initially sponsored the group, according to Philly.com.
He was named this year’s Best Comic Captain and his club took first place in the comic division.
Murray leaves behind his wife, a 24-year-old daughter, two sisters and a brother.
