Camden County Police are searching for a man responsible for a brutal sexual assault on a mother and her 17-year-old daughter in their basement apartment Sunday morning.
Investigators say the assault happened between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. in a ground floor unit of the Arborwood Condominiums at 511 E. Gibbsboro Road. Police say a man entered the apartment through a window, and then ordered the women from their bedrooms into the living room area. He then collected an object from the kitchen and sexually assaulted both women with the object. The suspect then left following the assault.
The 40-year-old woman and her teen daughter were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’10” tall wearing a black hoodie and black gloves.
Police say the same suspect is believed to have committed an earlier break in of another ground floor unit in an adjacent building. During that incident a man entered the apartment through a window but was frightened off, possibly by the resident’s dog.
