“This will ruin property values of the homes it directly goes through!! What about the congestion of all of the intersections of the towns it passes through?! Sure everyone who does not have to live near it should be excited.”

“This is exciting. South Jersey finally getting some $$ from the state and the respect it deserves. Hopefully this drastically reduces traffic along 42 & 55. “

These comments left by NBCPhiladelphia.com readers clearly show the public is not united on the expansion of PATCO’s Hi-speedline to Gloucester County.

So, the Delaware River Port Authority's (DRPA) upcoming open house meetings aim to familiarize residents with the transit plans, according to the Courier-Post.

At the meetings, people can review details of the plan and speak with officials about the project.

They will be held:

June 11,Woodbury High School Cafeteria,6:30p.m. to 8:30p.m.
June 17, Camden County College, Civic Hall in the Connector Building, 6:30p.m. to 8:30p.m.
June 18, Rowan University, Chamberlain Student Center, 6:30p.m. to 8:30p.m.

The line would run from Camden to Glassboro with stops in Gloucester City, Woodbury and Pitman. And there will be express bus lanes on routes 42 and 55 to help reduce congestion, according to the paper.

For years the DRPA talked about expanding the line which carries passengers from Camden County to Philadelphia and now the state is kicking in money to make that happen. PATCO was already told they will receive $500 million from the state in funding
