A man whose driver's license has been suspended 78 times pleaded guilty to yet another drunken-driving offense -- his 15th.

Shaun Campbell told a judge in Morris County Tuesday that he was wasted on beer when he crashed his SUV head-on into a pickup carrying a man and his 4-year-old daughter in April. They were not seriously injured.

Campbell, a 40-year-old carpenter from East Rutherford, admitted his blood-alcohol level was .288 percent, more than triple the state's .08 percent level. If you're wondering what one needs to drink to reach such a level, Campbell told the judge.

"Beer," he said in court, according to DailyRecord.com. "Quite a bit. Enough to not know what was going on."

Campbell's license has been suspended 78 times -- 78 times -- over 22 years. He still faces drunken-driving charges in Pequannock and Wayne.

Prosecutors are seeking a maximum prison term of more than two years when Campbell is sentenced in August. He'll also lose his driver's license for at least another 10 years, but it's clear such a sanction doesn't seem to work.
