A father of two toddlers died Monday night, succumbing to fatal injuries inflicted by the owner of a Southwest Philly strip club, the club’s manager and a bouncer more than two weeks ago, say police.

James Koons, 31, of Delaware County, died at Hospital of The University of Pennsylvania 6 p.m. Monday after being in critical condition more than 17 days.

Koons and his friend George Foreacre were ejected from the Oasis Gentleman’s Club for being too rowdy Friday Oct. 16. After realizing he left his credit card at the strip club, Koons returned with Foreacre to the Essington Avenue club to retrieve it.

After being confronted at the door, Oasis Gentleman’s Club owner Robert Laflar, 43, of Oreland; club manager Brandan Davis, 32, of Oreland; and club bouncer John Pettit, 48, of Pennsauken beat Koons within an inch of his life, police say.

The men also attacked Foreacre, who suffered broken bones, and was treated and released from the hospital, authorities say.

Police charged the three men with attempted murder and aggravated assault, as well as obstructing justice and tampering with evidence because they were caught dismantling the extensive video recording system at Oasis, police say.

Police say the charges will be upgraded to murder.
