A deck collapsed during a birthday party In the Lehigh Valley, injuring seven.

About 20 people were on the backyard deck Wednesday night at a home in Catasauqua when it gave way. People fell about 12 feet to the ground, according to the Morning Call.

The injuries were minor -- things like fractures, bruises and back pain -- and the people treated were all adults. The borough's code enforcement officer will investigate.

"It's standard construction that they would use for a deck," Catasauqua Fire Chief Samuel Burrows told the Call. "It was probably just deterioration from age. I didn't see anything abnormal."
