Funeral Services Begin for Jean Biden

Jean Biden: Everyone is your equal

The life of Jean Biden, mother of Vice President Joe Biden, is being celebrated at a wake this afternoon.

Jean Biden, 92, died on Friday in her Greenville, Del. home surrounded by the Vice President and a host of family members and loved ones.

The wake will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on 4701 Weldin Road in Wilmington.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11a.m. A private burial service will follow for the family.

Though the Vice President’s staff won’t confirm the report, President Barack Obama may be attending the funeral service, according to the Wilmington News Journal.

If you are planning to attend the services there will be no parking available at the church on Tuesday morning, according to officials.

Shuttle buses will be provided from the University of Delaware, Wilmington Campus, Arsht Hall at 2600-2800 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Handbags, book bags, backpacks, purses, food or beverages, tobacco products, personal gromming items, strollers, any pointed objects, aerosol containers, cameras, video recorders, and umbrellas will not be permitted.
