Some Kutztown students may have majored in marijuana

Kutztown University has enough pot-smoking students to keep a multimillion-dollar drug ring in business, according to Attorney Gen. Tom Corbett.
Police broke up a big-money marijuana ring, which made most of its $2.5 million by selling weed on the Kutztown University campus, says Corbett.
That’s a lot of cannabis on campus.
The ring spanned from New York to Pennsylvania. Several individuals were busted for transporting bulk quantities of high-grade marijuana and ecstasy pills from New York to the Easton area for distribution and resale, according to the attorney general.
A significant amount of the weed was resold on the 10,000-plus Kutztown University campus because of “an especially high demand for the drug,” according to a press release.
"Being a college student does not make you immune from the consequences of drug trafficking," Corbett said. "If you're selling drugs - whether on a university campus or in any of our communities - we will find you and we will put you out of business."
Police arrested nine suspects who allegedly operated the drug ring after a year-long investigation, said Corbett. Undercover agents purchased pot from Kutztown University students and eventually traced the supply to brothers Kendell "Sho" Alexander of Yonkers, N.Y. and Nolan "Smurf" Alexander of Easton, Pa.
"This organization was responsible for distributing high-grade marijuana, which brought in as much as $5,200 per pound for the organization," Corbett said.
