Animal Remains Found in Feltonville Home

Skulls of rams, sheep, turtles and a monkey were discovered

Philadelphia SPCA officials discovered the remains of dozens of animals in a Feltonville home Sunday which were possibly used in a religious ritual, according to investigators.

Workers got a tip on Christmas Eve that abandoned animals were living in a home on the 4800 block of  North Front Street.

When SPCA officials arrived they found hundreds animal carcasses throughout the home including skulls of rams, sheep, turtles, a monkey and buckets of animal blood.

SPCA officials also found two emaciated dogs and removed them from the home.

"Both dogs were emaciated, dirty," said PSPCA officer Wayne Smith. "[The owner] did have food in there, but the dogs just wasn't being fed…fecal covered the whole house."

The dogs were taken to the SPCA for treatment.

Workers tried to contact the owner of the property but there were reports that he is in Mexico.

The gruesome discovery is still under investigation.
