Delaware State Police charged a day care worker with endangering the welfare of a child after a three-year-old wandered away and was found on Route 896.

Evelyn Devonshire, 44, of Newark was charged Tuesday and released on unsecured bail.

Troopers say Devonshire was on duty at the Little Scholars Daycare Monday when the boy wandered away.

Drivers noticed the boy walking near Four Seasons Parkway and called police.
