World Health Organization Enlists Montco Firm in Ebola Fight

CSL Behring may soon be joining the fight against Ebola.

The King of Prussia, Pa., biopharmaceutical company, owned by CSL Ltd. of Australia, has developed an expertise in producing hyperimmune products for serious infections such as rabies and tetanus. CSL Behring specializes in plasma protein biotherapeutics.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which is working with the World Health Organization, recently approached CSL about the possibility of using the company's technologies to develop a treatment from the purified antibodies of people who have survived the Ebola virus.
